Nadezda Kracun Lecei, 66, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Johnston UNC Healthcare in Smithfield. Born on January 19, 1959, she was daughter to the late Stojan Kracun and Miloranka Dragasevic Kracun.

Nadezda was a woman whose life was rooted in love. She was deeply devoted to her family and took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of her loved ones. Her home was a place of welcome, where laughter echoed and love was abundant.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unconditional care. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her tireless hands, and the deep, steady love she gave so freely. Nadezda faced life’s challenges with courage and inspired others through her quiet strength and boundless kindness. Whether offering a listening ear, a comforting word, or a helping hand, she had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued.

She shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, working side by side with him in the restaurant they built together. Their partnership was one of deep respect, love, and shared purpose. Nadezda also found great joy in her garden, where she lovingly planted, tended, and harvested the fruits of her labor. The garden was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace, purpose, and a deep connection to the beauty of the natural world.

Nadezda is survived by her loving husband, Janos Lecei; her sons, Daniel Lecei and wife, Katlynn, and Robert Lecei and wife, Michele; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service. A service to honor Nadezda’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will conclude at the Kenly Cemetery.
