Maurice “Frenchy” Sylvester DuBois, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, surrounded by love. Born on November 23, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Maurice and Viola Mason DuBois. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Campbell.
A proud patriot, Frenchy honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, dedicating 20 years of his life to military service. He retired with distinction at the rank of Master Sergeant, remembered for his unwavering integrity, leadership, and commitment to those with whom he served.
Frenchy’s life will be celebrated with a graveside service on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with Pastor Freddie Braswell officiating. Friends are invited to speak with the family following the service at the cemetery.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda B. DuBois; his cherished daughter, Melissa DuBois; his sons, Matthew DuBois and Scott Reeves, along with Scott’s wife, Alyssia Schwenke; and his adored granddaughter, MacKenzie Joann Reeves. Maurice also leaves behind a loving niece and nephew who held a special place in his heart.
A man of strength, honor, and deep affection for his family, Maurice will be remembered for his quiet kindness, steadfast devotion, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
