Edward Leon Lewis, 69, went home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at his home. Born in Wayne County on May 21, 1955, he was son to the late Rev. Leon Lewis and Ruth Cummings Lewis.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Pikeville Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department. A graveside service to honor Eddie’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Pikeville Cemetery with Pastor Amy Kelly and Pastor Barry Stallings officiating.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Debbie Peele Lewis; his children, Tommy Lewis and wife, Shawn, Azure Smith and husband, Dwayne, Brandon Windham and wife, Catherine; his grandchildren, Garrett Lewis, Carter Smith, Jordan Smith and wife, Joie, Chase Smith, Jayden Windham, Luke Windham, Kristina Davis and husband, Matt; his great-grandson, Bennet Smith, Mitchell Silvani, Langston Silvani; his siblings, Nancy Sanders, Brenda Williams, Richard Lewis and wife, Sheila, Elizabeth Gainey and husband, Norwood, Dennis Lewis and wife, Lisa; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Geraldine Peele.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his son, James Edward Lewis.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
