2025 “Flags In” & Memorial Day Ceremonies

Please join us over this Memorial Day weekend as we pay tribute and honor to our Fallen Warriors of Wayne County.

8:00 am Saturday, 24 May: Biscuit, Doughnut, Coffee Breakfast at the American Legion Wayne Post 11 located 2973 US Hwy 117 South.

9:00 am: Saturday, 24 May: Memorial Tribute to the Fallen, followed by Flag distribution to team leaders. The guest speaker will be CMsgt Charlie Lesbier, Senior Enlisted Advisor of the 916 FSS at Seymour Johnson AFB. Following the breakfast and ceremonies, volunteers will report to their assigned cemeteries to place flags on the graves of our Fallen Worrior’s . Flags will be distributed at the cemeteries by the team leaders. Cemeteries to be worked from our center are Wayne Memorial Park, Wayne Memorial Park West, Elmwood, Willowdale, and Evergreen Cemeteries. If you have not volunteered when you arrive Saturday morning, when asked, please raise your hand so you can be assigned to a team and cemetery.

2:30 pm Monday, 26 May: Observance of the National Moment of Silence to be held at the Wayne County Veterans Memorial, 239 East Walnut Street. At the intersection of E. Walnut and N. William streets downtown Goldsboro.

Wreath Laying at the Courthouse Doughboy statue at the court house across the street will follow. If there are any questions:
