John Walter Bartlett, 79, resident of the Patetown community near Goldsboro, passed away Friday morning, May 9, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Bartlett had been a faithful employee of Bridgestone/Firestone in Wilson for 30 years, and he was a loyal member of Stoney Creek Church.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Outlaw Bartlett; a son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Maggie Bartlett of Denver, CO; a daughter, Megan Bartlett of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Lillie and Annie Bartlett, both of Denver; a brother, Roy Bartlett of Eureka; and Sarah Radford of Bolivia.
Mr. Bartlett was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Kinzie Best Bartlett; a brother, Gerald Bartlett; and a favorite uncle, Alton Best.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at Stoney Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church, Goldsboro, and will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Joshua Whitfield, the Rev. Chris Hall, and the Rev. Barry Williamson, followed by burial at Wayne Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service in the church fellowship hall beginning at 10 a.m.
Memorial gifts are suggested to be made to Caleb’s Dollar Crusaders for Christ Class, c/o Stoney Creek Church.
