Tamera Lynn Cottle, age 60, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 9, 2025, after a courageous fight with cancer, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Born on March 30, 1965, in Germany to Floyd and Janet Sapp, Tammy’s life was marked by compassion, faith, and a deep dedication to those around her.
A devoted educator, Tammy spent many years teaching in the Wayne County Public Schools, where her kindness and commitment touched countless lives. When she wasn’t teaching she enjoyed being at the beach, spending time with her family and cheering on her Dallas Cowboys. She was also a faithful member of Rosewood First Baptist Church, where she found strength in her faith and community.
Tammy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Tim Cottle; her children, Brandon Daw (Mallory) and Courtney Boyette (Scotty). Her siblings; Teresa Lashley (Jerry), Dee Davis (Doug), Gary Sapp (Diana). She will also be remembered by her pride and joys Bryant Daw, and Everitt and Beckett Boyette. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and strength that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church. A service celebrating Tammy’s life will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary, with Pastor Tim Lipp and Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating.
