With profound sorrow and empathy, the staff and management of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors join with the Lofton and connected families to announce the earthly departure of Mr. Jerry Edward Lofton, 75.

Jerry Edward Lofton was born on September 1, 1949, in Grantham, NC, to the late John C. Lofton and Catherine Peele Lofton.

Jerry graduated from Dillard High School in Goldsboro, NC. He worked at Cherry Hospital for a brief period, then drove cabs until he became ill. He was a loving brother and father to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by three children: Jessica Lofton (with grandchildren Jaydin and Ja’kari), Monica Broadie (Goldsboro, NC), and Jerry Lofton, Jr. (Goldsboro, NC). He was the third of six siblings: Johnnie Mack Lofton(Jesse) (deceased) Danny Lofton (Goldsboro), Odell Lofton (Goldsboro), Larry Lofton (deceased), and Peggy Martin (Willie).
