Two-Vehicle Crash on Stevens Mill Road Causes Traffic Delays, Prompts Police Investigation

Goldsboro, N.C. — A two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon resulted in minor vehicle damage and temporary traffic delays near the intersection of Stevens Mill Road and West Ash Street. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. and involved a 2020 Kia and a 2017 Lexus.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, preliminary statements from those involved indicate that the driver of the Kia (Vehicle 1) was positioned in the right-turn lane on Stevens Mill Road, facing west. The driver reportedly attempted to turn left into the center travel lane when the vehicle was struck by the Lexus (Vehicle 2), which was heading westbound on West Ash Street.

The driver of the Lexus told responding officers that the Kia unexpectedly turned into her path, leaving her no time to react or avoid the collision. Both vehicles sustained visible damage, though the extent is believed to be minor.

No injuries were reported at the scene, and neither driver required medical attention, according to first responders.

The crash caused temporary traffic disruptions in the area as officers directed vehicles around the scene and cleanup crews worked to remove the damaged cars from the roadway. The area was fully cleared and traffic restored to normal flow approximately 45 minutes after the collision.

Investigators with the Goldsboro Police Department are continuing to review the circumstances of the crash, including traffic camera footage, witness statements, and vehicle positions, to determine fault. No citations have been issued at this time.

Authorities are reminding drivers to remain alert and cautious, particularly at intersections and turn lanes where visibility and timing can play critical roles in preventing accidents.
