Kinston, N.C. — (May 6) — The Down East Bird Dawgs are proud to unveil the trio of talented voices who will bring the sights and sounds of baseball to life for fans during the team’s inaugural 2025 season at Historic Grainger Stadium.

Shane “Sugar” Aube has been named the team’s Public Address Announcer, Kristopher Dumschat will serve as the On-Field Emcee, and Spencer Pattison will take the mic as the team’s Broadcaster.

Aube brings a wealth of experience and a recognizable voice to the Bird Dawgs, having served as the PA Announcer for the Down East Wood Ducks since 2023. He’s also the longtime voice of Wayne County American Legion Baseball and has contributed his distinctive announcing style to various local programs, including the University of Mount Olive, Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots, and Goldsboro High School Cougar Football.

Joining the entertainment team as On-Field Emcee is Kristopher Dumschat, who came on board in October 2024 as the Bird Dawgs’ Director of Marketing, Promotions & Fan Experience. He previously served in a similar role for the Holly Springs Salamanders of the Coastal Plain League, where he energized crowds and supported team communications. Dumschat is also active in the offseason as a freelance emcee and host for events ranging from community fundraisers to corporate gatherings.

Handling the play-by-play will be Spencer Pattison, a Colorado native with a dynamic background in sports broadcasting. His journey began with the Morehead City Marlins in the Coastal Plain League and continued in Dallas, Texas, where he covered high school, college, and professional sports. Most recently, Pattison led the broadcast and media relations efforts for the Sherman Shadowcats during their debut season in the Mid-America League in 2024.

With this skilled and spirited trio at the helm, the Down East Bird Dawgs are setting the stage for a season full of energy, connection, and memorable ballpark moments.

The Bird Dawgs’ inaugural season kicks off this spring at Historic Grainger Stadium, where fans will experience not only competitive baseball but a vibrant entertainment atmosphere unlike any other in the region.
