Selma-Robert Huxley “Bob” Parker, 78, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Born in Washington, D.C. on December 10, 1946, he was the son of the late William Hamilton Parker and Mary Rowe Parker.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Kathryn June McNamee Parker and brother, Thomas Ditto.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Amy Kathryn Ragsdale (Sean) and Anne Parker Hargrove; grandchildren, Tyler Ragsdale (Summer), Parker Ragsdale, Kylie Phillips (Jimmy), Taylor Hargrove, Kevin Hargrove, and Patrick Hargrove; great-grandchildren, Lillian Ragsdale and Ty Ragsdale.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was the owner and operator of Certified Heating and Air.
Every day for the last 15 years, it has been a part of Bob’s routine to visit the McDonald’s in Kenly for breakfast. Even when his health failed and he was no longer able to visit in person, his family continued his morning tradition by picking up his breakfast. He was known and cared for by the wonderful staff of the Kenly McDonald’s.
A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held in a private setting at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro with military honors rendered by the United States Air Force.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to any local group that supports and honors veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
