Case Farms’ Goldsboro Complex Honored with Top Workplace Safety Award

Goldsboro, N.C. – Case Farms’ Goldsboro Complex has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award by the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL), recognizing the facility’s outstanding commitment to workplace safety and its industry-leading safety performance.

The NCDOL Gold Award is the highest honor granted by the department and is only awarded to facilities that achieve exceptional safety records. To qualify, a workplace must maintain both its Incident Rate and DART Rate (Days Away, Restricted or Transferred) at less than 50% of the industry average for a full calendar year.

“This is achieved by putting safety at the forefront of everything we do as a company,” said Jared Birchum, Complex Safety Manager at Case Farms. “The Goldsboro Team has dedicated themselves to consistent safety performance, and this award provides validation for all of the efforts involved in maintaining a safe operation.”

The award was presented by North Carolina Commissioner of Labor Luke Farley, who joined Birchum in a photo to commemorate the recognition.

The honor underscores Case Farms’ broader safety strategy, which includes continuous training, employee engagement, and strict adherence to safety protocols. The company has emphasized that its top priority remains ensuring every employee returns home safely at the end of the day.

Founded in 1986, Case Farms is a fully integrated poultry farming and processing company with operations in Ohio and North Carolina. The company employs over 3,700 people and processes more than 4 million birds per week, producing over 1.1 billion pounds of poultry products annually.
