Born in Wayne County March 11, 1957, Kathy was the beloved daughter of Newman B. and Carolyn R. Percise. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Dr. William B. Long; her sister, Linda Pearce (Danny); her brother, Ronnie Percise (Scottie); sisters-in-law, Vicki Rosenow (Phil) and Stacy Frankfort (Ed); brother-in-law, Tommy Long; special nieces and nephews, Frankie Lynn Pearce, Dan Pearce, Beth Percise, and Brian Percise; great nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends who loved her very much.
Kathy graduated from Goldsboro High School and Wayne Community College. She was employed over 25 years with Textilease Corporation. Kathy loved to dance in her earlier years and was a very good dancer. She loved poodles and cherished her four-legged poodle baby, Corkey. Above all, Kathy loved her family. Not having children of her own, her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. She was affectionately known as “Aunt Kak” to them and she made each of them feel special and loved as she sang “Happy Birthday” to them each year.
Kathy treasured time around the table with her family at the holidays and everyone looked forward to her famous Hershey cake.
Her husband, Bill, was her true soul mate. They enjoyed each other’s company and spent much time traveling together, enjoying quiet evenings on the patio at home, and many hours in front of the television cheering on their favorite UNC Tarheels. Kathy was faithful, devoted, and generous to those she loved. She had a beautiful smile and a beautiful heart. She will be missed every day by those who were blessed to call her wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.
“Set me as a seal upon your heart… for love is strong as death… many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it.” Song of Solomon 8:6-7
