Yanmar Expands Partnership with ASEAN Football Federation, Donates to Earthquake Relief

Osaka, Japan – (April 29th) Anmar Holdings has officially announced its expanded sponsorship of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), becoming the official partner of four major national and club competitions across Southeast Asia. The partnership includes the ASEAN Championship™, ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™, ASEAN MSIG Serenity Cup™, and ASEAN U-23 Championship™, collectively branded as ASEAN United FC.

This marks a significant extension of Yanmar’s previous partnership with the ASEAN Championship™ (2016–2022), and reinforces the company’s commitment to fostering regional unity and development through football.

Beyond sport, Yanmar is also demonstrating its social responsibility. In response to the devastating March 28 earthquake that impacted several ASEAN countries, the company has pledged equipment valued at US$100,000 to aid in recovery efforts. The relief will be coordinated with the AFF to ensure timely and effective distribution to the affected communities.

“Football transcends borders and cultures, bringing people together as a force for good,” said Motoo Isogai, Divisional Manager of Yanmar’s Sports Business Office.

“Through our partnership with the AFF and support for earthquake relief, Yanmar is proud to contribute to both the sport and the communities of Southeast Asia.”

AFF President Major General Khiev Sameth praised Yanmar’s ongoing support, saying, “Yanmar has stood alongside the AFF as a steadfast and valued partner. Their deeper involvement in our flagship competitions and their generous aid after the earthquake highlight their commitment not only to football but to the people of our region.”

“Yanmar has proven to be more than a sponsor — they are part of the ASEAN football family.”

The partnership is part of Yanmar’s broader mission to create a society enriched by meaningful experiences. The company is active in youth development and sports sponsorships globally, including its Yamaoka Hanasaka Academy in Thailand, which develops young football talent, and its long-term partnership with J1 League club Cerezo Osaka, home to internationally known player Shinji Kagawa.

Founded in Osaka in 1912, Yanmar is a global leader in industrial equipment and diesel engine technology, with operations spanning agriculture, construction, energy systems, marine, and more. For additional details, visit Yanmar’s official website.

The AFF, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, is the regional governing body of football in Southeast Asia. It oversees 12 member nations and manages some of the region’s most important football competitions. More information can be found at aseanutdfc.com and aseanfootball.org.
