April 4, 2025, 86, Goldsboro —
Willie Earl Hollowell, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 4, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born in Wayne County on November 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Armon and Verlie Hollowell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Wilbert Hollowell, Cornelia Edwards, and Ophelia Howell.
Willie Earl was a dedicated and hardworking man, having spent many years employed by Paul Goff Masonry. Known for his warm and inviting presence, he took great joy in the simple things in life. He was often seen standing along the road, waving at the many friends and children who passed by his home. His friendly wave and constant smile provided comfort to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
A man of deep faith, Willie Earl worshiped with his sister at Freedom Baptist Church, where his spirit of devotion and kindness touched all who knew him. Yet, nothing brought him more joy than the time he spent with his family, whom he cherished dearly.
Willie Earl is survived by his loving sisters, Nellie Burgess, Judy Taylor, and Lorene Grice, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Fellowship Community Methodist Church Cemetery in Princeton. Rev. Ron Hawley and Rev. Dennis Pollock will officiate. Following the service, the family invites friends to join them at the cemetery to offer their condolences and share in the remembrance of Willie Earl.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
