Letrevia Tressa Gray

February 27, 2025, 73, Goldsboro —

Letrevia Tressa Gray, 73, lovingly known as Treva, stepped into life everlasting with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 27, 2025 while surrounded by her loving family at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Treva was born in Wayne County to the late Raymond and Ruby Gray on November 4, 1951. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jesse Raymond Gray and William Michael Gray.

Treva maintained a long and successful career with Wayne Memorial Hospital and Jackson Moving and Storage. Following her retirement from full time employment, she displayed her true servant’s heart by serving as the bookkeeper for their family business, Carolina Family Pool & Patio and in the way she cared for her grandchildren. She dedicated much time and attention to their well-being, showing her great love for them.

Always happy and ever loving, Treva was completely inseparable from Rayburn. The two enjoyed being together and were blessed to spend time together both at work and at home. Just as Treva loved, she was loved, and everyone who knew her adored her.

Greatly loved by her family, she was affectionately known as “GaGa” or “Grandma T” to her grandchildren. She loved her family dearly, but there was something extra special about having those grandchildren.

Around the home, Treva spent time tending to the flowers and garden that she enjoyed with her granddaughter, Emalyn as well as her daily golf cart rides with Olivia to feed the donkeys. Trips to the beach or the mountains with family were always a highlight and spending time at the race track also brought her great joy. Early in life, she was at the race track with her son, Brandon, and more recently with her granddaughter, Delaney. Treva was their biggest fan.

Treva is survived by the love of her life, Rayburn Brown; children, Brandon Gray and wife, Jessi, Michelle Jones, Noelle Woods and husband, Rob, and David Brown; grandchildren, Delaney Gray, Emalyn Gray, Olivia Gray, Chase Darden, Zachary Darden (Kara), Gray Darden, Kennedy Sutton (Austin) and Bailey Woods; and great-grandchildren, Carson Darden, Wyatt Darden, and Eli Darden. She is also survived by her sisters, Ellen West, Patsy Boyette and husband, Mike, and Jackie Mewborn; sisters-in-law, Eula Gray and Brenda Perry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins she loved very much.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at The First Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro. A service to celebrate Treva’s life will follow at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary with Pastor Bill Rose officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Treva’s memory to The First Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
