January 24, 2025, 67, Goldsboro —

Cheryl Oreo White, 67, of Goldsboro joined her heavenly Father, Friday, January 24, 2025 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.

Homegoing service will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park North.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from noon until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cheryl was born on September 2, 1957 to William Johnson (deceased) and Thelma Platt Johnson at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. Growing up, she attended many schools as an military dependent.  She earned numerous degrees in business, paralegal and data entry/management. Following her retirement from being a school bus driver, she enjoyed to going to the Peggy Senior Center in Goldsboro.  She was very active in her church, Followers of Christ Ministries she where became a minister and administrated Sunday School.  She will be missed by all.

Cherishing her memories are her mother, Thelma Platt Johnson; her sisters, Elvira Johnson and Monika Johnson; her niece, Dorian Turner; her nephew, Marcellus Turner and her uncles, Roosevelt Platt Jr. and Robert Johnson. 

Cheryl loved her many things in life including her dog, Toby; her church; watching her favorite movie, Ben Hur; eating double cheeseburgers; drinking ginger ale; eating pistachio ice cream but most importantly, her family that she loved with all her heart.
