Donna Sue Thigpen, 61, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County on April 7, 1963, she was daughter to Donnie Ray Colmore and Edith Johnson Colmore.

Donna loved spending time with her family and was a beacon of warmth and joy in her family’s lives. With her laughter that could brighten the gloomiest day and a heart as big as the ocean, she dedicated herself to her children and grandchildren. Donna loved the beach and the sandy shores where she created lasting memories with her family, basking under the sun and listening to the waves gently crashing against the shore.

Donna is survived by her parents; her daughters, Laura Thigpen, Amanda Morris and husband, Allen, and Alicia Thigpen; her brother, Timothy Colmore and wife, Kathryn; her grandchildren, Luna Barratt, Gracyn Morris, Ariana March and Jameson March; and her nephews, Cameron and Tyler Colmore.

Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Laura Johnson and Hattie and Harry Colmore.

A service to honor Donna’s life will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Rose officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
