Debra Ann Mills, 63, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Born in El Paso County, Texas, she was daughter to the late William McCranie and Margaret Alexander McCranie.

Debra’s love for cooking and gardening intertwined beautifully, shaping her life into a vibrant tapestry of flavor and color. Debra loved how cooking could bring people together. Family dinners became a cherished tradition. With each dish she created and every flower she nurtured, she painted her world with joy, reminding everyone around her of the beauty found in simple pleasures.

Gardening was Debra’s therapy. The feel of soil between her fingers, the joy of watching her plants blossom, and the tranquility of her yard created a sanctuary away from the hustle of daily life.

Debra had always found solace in the simple things in life, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her beloved dog, Bella. Debra often reflected on how much Bella had changed her life. The love shown by her furry friend were some of the greatest gifts Debra had ever received

Debra is survived by her children, Tiffany Wheeler and husband, Bryan, Glenda Bass and husband, Mike, and William Mills; her grandchildren, Zachary Gurley and wife, Cheyanne, Alston Bass and wife, Lauren, and Grant Williams; her great-grandchild, Layton Bass; her sister, Donna McCranie; her brother, Eddie McCranie; and her step-mother, Sally Gillis.

In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her brothers, Doug and Steven McCranie.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Northeast Original Free Will Baptist Church. A service to honor Debra’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Bryan Wheeler officiating. Interment will conclude at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
