Willie Ransom Howell, 85, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Somerset Court Assisted Living with his daughter by his side. Born in Wilson County on October 5, 1939, he was the son of the late Charlie and Mary Ann Moore Howell.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his brother, Leslie “Hoss” Howell.

Willie is survived by his daughter, Tracy Howell Coonradt; brother, Vernon Howell of Goldsboro; sisters, Frances Grimes of Stantonsburg, Ruby Howell of Wilson, Mary “Papoose” Durham and husband, Ricky of Stantonsburg, and Connie Ferrell and husband, Ray of Wilson.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Seymour Funeral Home.
