November 9, 2024, 50, Goldsboro —
Jay Daniel “Danny” Lethco, 50, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Born in Marion, Virginia, he was the son of David Lethco and the late Lonnie Kegley Sigmon.
In addition to his mother, Danny is preceded in death by his Uncle Jay and his Aunt Mabel.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Shanna Newman Lethco; daughter, Logan Lethco; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Kathy Newman; step-father, Steve Sigmon; and special canine friend, Bailey. Danny is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends that he loved dearly.
For over 30 years, Danny worked as an electrician, having worked with Wayne Electric, and most recently Wayne UNC Healthcare. Those who knew Danny knew of his love for grilling. He was the definition of a pitmaster. After grilling his steaks, Danny could often be seen in front of the TV enjoying a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game, or a Philadelphia Eagles game on Sundays. Along with his many grills, Danny had an impressive collection of bourbon. Danny served as a volunteer fireman with the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years.
To Danny, nothing was more important than that of his family. His love for them knew no bounds and each moment he spent together with his family was a memory he cherished forever. He loved when the whole family would come together and he would get to fire up the grill for them. Danny will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend to all.
The family will have a time of visitation and remembrance on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Danny’s life will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Fremont Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Timothy Gore presiding. A private interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 in memory of Danny.
Services have been entrusted to Kenly Funeral Service.
