August 12, 2024, 42, Goldsboro —
Johnnie Wayne Bryant, Jr., 42, left a void in the hearts of many as he departed this life suddenly on Monday, August 12, 2024. Wayne was born in Wayne County to Johnnie Wayne Bryant, Sr., and Wanda Daughtry Whaley on March 31, 1982.
With a love of nature and the outdoors, Wayne found peace and comfort whenever he was in the woods or by the water. Nothing made him happier than driving fast or shooting guns. Second to that it was hunting or fishing.
Wayne had a knack for tearing things apart and putting them back together. He was a valuable employee of Tony’s Muffler Shop in Goldsboro.
The most important thing in Wayne’s life was his family. He held the keys to his mama’s heart and was his dad’s best bud. Dani Jo was the wife God created specifically for Wayne, and the two built a marriage of love and friendship. No love came close to what he felt for his baby girl, Haylah. In his eyes, she held the sun, the moon, and the stars. Despite time or distance, Haylah will always be daddy’s girl.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Wayne’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Lynn Epps officiating.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 21 years, Dani Jo Bryant; daughter, Haylah Bryant (Tobey); father, Johnnie Bryant and wife, Susan; mother, Wanda Whaley and husband, Ronnie; siblings, Mandy Hancock (Tommy), Doug Delisio (Jennifer) and Shawna Delisio; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ginny and David Raper; and his nieces and nephews, Dynah, Allainah, Triston, Rocco, Laney, Jordyn, Sadie and Sully, all whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty and Jesse Daughtry, Ruth and John B. Bryant, and Shirley and J.C. Whaley; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wanda and Sparky Westbrook.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Wayne’s memory to the Hebron Colony, 356 Old Turnpike Road, Boone, NC 28607.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
