Virginia Howell Tillman, 81, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. Virginia was born in Wayne County to the late Emmitt and Flora Viola Jones Howell on October 1, 1942. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Sidney Mozingo and Roger “Bud” Tillman; son, William Tillman; and 2 grandchildren.

Spending time in her yard tending to her flowers and garden was most enjoyable. She was constantly surrounded by her faithful animals, and her love for dogs and cats was grand. Keeping her mind sharp, she enjoyed reading novels and working on word puzzles. Her greatest love was her family, and she received constant love and support from her daughters, Lynn and Tennie, and son-in-law, Parrish.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at Rouse Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024, with Rev. Gerald Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to the service. Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Virginia is survived by her children, Lynn Payne and husband Parrish, Thennie “Tennie” Williams and husband, Timothy, and Pamela Ladd and husband Charles; step-son, Charles Mozingo and wife, Linda; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
