Rose Price Goode

Rose Price Goode

May 12, 2024, 83, Goldsboro —

Rose Price Goode, 83, was received into the arms of her Savior in the evening hours of Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born in Cumberland County to Ralph and Esther Grey Braswell Price on May 1, 1941.

God was always first in Rose’s life, above all else. Her church and church family were very important to her wherever she was living.

Rose was a nurturing and loving mother. Her children took priority in her life, and she devoted herself to them without reservation. She always wanted to make sure they knew they were loved and cared for. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held an equally important part of her heart. She loved to watch them grow and succeed. Throughout her life, her love of animals was surpassed only by her love of family.

With a smile that brightened the room and a love of laughter, Rose made friends easily everywhere she went. She could strike up a chat with anyone she met. These gifts served her well in her 30-year career with Joe White & Associates, and as a hostess for John’s Restaurant, both of Lumberton, NC. Rose loved making a difference with young girls and found her true passion as an employee of Girl Scouts of America in Lumberton, where she served as a girl scout leader and leader trainer for over 15 years.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Price and Esther Grey Braswell Price; brother, John Ralph (“JR”) Price of Florida; and former husband, Johnny Goode of Hartsville, SC.

Rose is survived by her son, Johnny Goode, JR., and wife, Amy of Roseboro, NC; daughter, Sandra Woodle and husband, Al of Baxley, GA; granddaughter Katie Grace Ballance, and husband Jackson of Roseboro, NC; and grandsons Devyn Jacob Woodle and Colton Thayer Woodle of Baxley, GA; great-grandchildren Charles Luke Ballance and John Afton Ballance of Roseboro, NC; and several nieces she loved very much.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Rose’s life will be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. Interment in Wayne Memorial Park will immediately follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Rose’s memory to Volunteers of Hazelhurst Animal Shelter, 52 JA Yawn Road, Hazlehurst, GA, United States, Georgia; [email protected]
