Goldsboro Police Respond to Two Shootings on Wednesday Night

Goldsboro Police responded to a pair of shootings on Wednesday night that occurred within two hours of each other.

At approximately 8:02 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 200 block of Rosewood Road. Moments later, responding officers were notified that a subject had been shot and was in the 1600 block of Day Circle.

Officers arrived on scene and located the victim in the 1600 block of Day Circle. The victim, Xzavier J. Mickens, 21, was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

EMS responded and transported Mickens to UNC Health Wayne for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Mickens was listed in stable condition at the time of this release. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene.

At approximately 10:19 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were in the 1600 block of Day Circle when they heard a gunshot. They were soon made aware of a subject that had been shot in the 100 block of Day Circle.

Responding officers quickly located the victim in the 100 block of Day Circle. The victim, a 17-year-old black male, was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. EMS responded and transported the victim to UNC Health Wayne. He was subsequently transported to ECU Health Medical Center for further treatment. The victim was in serious condition.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau responded to the scene. There is no indication at this time that this incident was related to the incident that occurred earlier in Day Circle.
