Impaired Driver Attempts to Discard Narcotics

Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office DWI Task Force conducting a traffic stop discovered the driver was heavily intoxicated on both alcohol and narcotics.  The driver, 28-year-old Ayshaun La’Jaun Canady was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired.  After the arrest, Canady attempted to discard a large amount of narcotics inside of the patrol vehicle. 

Additional warrants for Felony Level I Trafficking Heroin by Transportation, Felony Level I Trafficking Heroin by Possession, Felony Destroy Criminal Evidence, Felony Possession of Controlled Substance on Jail Premises, and Possession of Marijuana up to ½ ounce were secured after the arrest.  Canady had already signed out of the Wayne County Jail on his Written Promise when his new charges were secured.
