Betty Lou Holloway, 93, of Goldsboro, passed away peacefully at home with her daughter, Janet, and her granddaughter, Jaime.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.  The family will receive friends following the graveside.

Betty moved to Goldsboro in 1959 with her family from Lexington Kentucky. The family made Madison Avenue Baptist Church their spiritual home where Betty was active with the Women’s Missionary Fund. As an accomplished seamstress, she very often made beautiful robes for the Church Choir among many other tasks of love for the church and missionary outreach.

In 1962, with her daughters growing up and her husband traveling the world with a British Tobacco Company, Betty took up the game of golf. Her golf game became her passion along with the many dear and wonderful friendships she made. Betty was honored in 2014, after 50 years as the only playing Charter member of the East Carolina Ladies Golf Association. Betty’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were dearly loved and attended to through the years and brought her great joy and happiness. She will be remembered for her giving spirit and fun sense of humor.

Survived by brother, Richard Littrell of Lexington Kentucky; daughter, Janet Jackson (Rowland) of Clifton Texas; grandson, Benjamin Jackson; granddaughters, Jaime Tanner (Scott), and Lisa Smith (Adam) and five great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Holloway of Goldsboro; daughter, Dr. Kathryn Geisen; her parents, Louella and Gilbert Littrell; her sister, Jo Ellen Morgan and her brother, Gilbert “Buddy” Littrell all of Lexington Kentucky.
