March 16, 2022, 58, Kenly –

James “Dean” Pilkington, 58, of Kenly departed this walk of life Wednesday morning, March 16, 2022 at home.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 4 p.m. at Progressive Church Cemetery in Princeton.  The family will greet friends following the service and other times at the home of John and Crystal Pilkington, 2425 Piney Grove Church Road in Kenly.

Dean was born in Johnston County December 15, 1963 to the late James Thurman and Jean Whitley Pilkington. 

He is survived by his fiancée, Peggy Barbour; one son, Matthew Pilkington (Markie) of Kansas; one daughter, Angel Capps (Brandon Conner) of Virginia; one brother, John (Crystal) Pilkington of Kenly; four sisters, Debra Pilkington of Mt. Olive, Sue Pilkington (Michael Morris) of Kenly, Lisa Woods (Danny) of Benson and his twin sister, Charlene Pilkington (Dale Barbour) of Pikeville; four grandchildren, Cheyenne, Savannah, Wyatt and Naheyva and two whom were like his grandchildren, Jacob Barbour and Alex Sanchez; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
