December 29, 2021, 85, Goldsboro –

Rose Benton Hansen, 85, of the Elroy community passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 while in the care of Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, James Luby and Gladys Benton; brothers, Harold Benton, Thomas Benton, and Richard Benton; and sister, Faye Benton Hudson.

Rose is survived by her brother, John Benton and sister, Betty Benton Robinson.

Rose graduated from New Hope High School in Wayne County and then earned her degree in Interior Design from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She went on to enjoy a successful career in commercial interior design in Atlanta, Georgia and Raleigh, North Carolina for many years.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A private service will be held at the family homeplace.
