Suspect Charged For Goldsboro, Raleigh Robberies

A suspect is arrested for robberies in Goldsboro and Raleigh.

The Goldsboro Police Department reports 52-year-old Aakim Franklin of Goldsboro was arrested in Raleigh on Friday by members of the State Bureau of Investigations and Raleigh Police Department.

Franklin was wanted on a warrant for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon for the June 22nd armed robbery at the Family Dollar on the 500 block of E. New Hope Road in Goldsboro.  An employee was held at gunpoint and the suspect made off with U.S. currency.

Franklin was also believed to be involved in an additional robbery at a State Employees Credit Union in Raleigh on July 8th.  He has been charged with Common Law Robbery for that incident.

Franklin was held without bail at the Wake County Jail.
