Athletes Of The Week: Riley Hill

Athletes Of The Week: Riley Hill

Name a sport played at Spring Creek High School, and Riley Hill probably plays it.

The junior plays softball, basketball, tennis and competes in the discus and shotput. Playing so many sports is difficult for any student-athlete to balance, but Hill has managed to find a routine that makes things easier for her.

“I think softball is probably my favorite,” Hill said.

Hill started playing softball at seven years old, and she could not wait to join the varsity team at Spring Creek.

She has enjoyed spending time with her friends on the softball diamond.

“It’s been fun. It’s had its ups and downs, but we’re a tightknit school,” Hill said.

Over on the tennis court, Hill plays in the No. 2 singles spot, which is impressive considering she only started playing tennis in high school.

“I just wanted to try something new when I got to high school, and tennis was it,” Hill said. “It’s been crazy. I was No. 4 last year and moving up to No. 2 has been a big jump.

“I feel like I’ve tried my best.”

That love of playing sports with her friends has carried Hill throughout her high career.

And while this season was different in a multitude of ways, Hill said she glad to play have a season in every sport she plays.

In the classroom, Hill is also a tremendous student. She is in the top seven percent of her class and will serve as a junior marshal at the Spring Creek High School graduation.
