WCC Summer Schedule And COVID Changes

Wayne Community College will implement its summer operational schedule and some COVID-19 protocol changes next week.

College offices will be open for business 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays from Monday, May 10 through Friday, Aug. 13.

The exception will be the Admissions and Records, Counseling, and Financial Aid Departments which will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays through the summer in order to assist students who are planning to enter the college in Fall 2021.

WCC will continue to provide the majority of its instruction online this summer and those taught in-person courses will still be taught with reduced class sizes.

After May 7, the college will discontinue in-vehicle COVID-19 screenings. Face coverings are still required inside its facilities and in group settings outdoors. Social distancing and sanitation will be expected.

“We are moving forward on a path to normalcy but we must do so in a measured and logical manner,” said Vice President of Academic and Student Services Patty Pfeiffer. “Our hope is that our state and community will continue to progress past the pandemic. For the fall 2021 semester, we have added more on-campus courses as well as hybrid courses for those who want them. By the spring 2022 semester, we hope we can return to pre-pandemic scheduling.”
