Wayne County Wants To Get “Shots In Arms”

Wayne County has vaccine available for eligible recipients.

That was the message from County Manager Craig Honeycutt at Tuesday’s Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting.

Honeycutt says the county wants to get as many shots into arms as possible.

He complimented the work of all the Wayne County personnel and volunteers that are staffing the vaccination center.

Certain members of North Carolina’s “Group 4” became eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine starting on Wednesday.

According to Thursday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, 19,575 people were at least partially vaccinated in Wayne County and 9,961 people had been fully vaccinated.

Wayne County closed its vaccination site early on Thursday due to the threat of inclement weather.
