Sarah Joyce Casey, 87, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Wayne County on August 13, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Robert Glenn Casey and Evelyn Odom Casey.

Sarah worked for many years as a registered nurse. She enjoyed spending her later years volunteering with Kitty Askins and the Lions Club. She got great joy in watching “Jeopardy” each night and would have appreciated the fact that she passed on the same day as it’s host, Alex Trebek. Sarah was a dedicated and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery.

Sarah is survived by her children, Kirk Hall and Jenny Hall; grandchildren, Rachel Hall, Julie Hall, Vivian Snider, and Emmette Strickland; and siblings, Lois Buday, Bobby Casey, and Mike Casey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Joyce “Buttercup” Casey.
