Sunday afternoon, paramedics from Wayne County EMS Station 8 and firefighters from Mar-Mac were dispatched to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Genoa Road between Old Mount Olive Highway and Highway 117.  A Chevrolet Camaro driven by a female was struck from behind by a Chevrolet SUV. The driver of the Camaro had to be assisted by paramedics and firefighters on the scene. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The State Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation into the accident.
