June 21, 2026, 40, Fredericksburg, VA – With profound love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Roy Cecil Rhodes, who departed this life on June 21, 2026, at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at the age of 40.
Born on December 20, 1985, Roy was the beloved son of Katie Miller and the late Carlton Rhodes. He was a devoted son, caring brother, proud uncle, treasured cousin, and loyal friend whose kindness and unwavering support touched countless lives.
Known affectionately as “Big Roy” to his friends, Roy never met a stranger. His warm smile, easygoing spirit, and genuine heart made everyone feel welcome. He was the person family and friends could always count on for encouragement, wisdom, and support. He valued loyalty and approached life with a calm and steady presence.
Family was at the center of Roy’s world. He was selfless, dependable, and always willing to put the needs of others before his own. His greatest joy came from spending time with loved ones and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Roy leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving mother, Katie Miller; his siblings; nieces and nephews whom he adored; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his friendship and love.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Rhodes.
Though he will be deeply missed, Roy’s legacy of love, loyalty, compassion, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM at New Christian Fellowship Church in Snow Hill NC. Burial will follow at the Haiti Cemetery in Trenton NC. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM at Hamilton Funeral Home, Goldsboro NC.
