June 14, 2026, 40, Mount Olive – Rogelio Lopez Villalon, 40, passed away on Sunday evening, June 14 after a long illness at UNC Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount. He is survived by his mother; Monica F. Lopez of Mount Olive; his daughter, Talia Villalon of Rose Hill, NC; his sister, Veronica Flores and her husband Martin of Mount Olive; and two brothers, Ramiro L. Villalon of Fayetteville, and Luis L. Villalon of Mount Olive.
Rogelio is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; Ramiro Zamudio Villalon.
Rogelio was a tough, hardworking young man, who was known for his big heart, and love for his family and friends. His ability to fix almost anything with his hands was amazing and led him to his job at Brewers hardware where he was a small engine mechanic. He took great pride in his job, and making sure everything he worked on was left running finely tuned.
A family gathering will take place on Saturday, June 20, at five o’clock in the afternoon at his home in the Beautancus community. Friends are welcome to attend.
