June 5, 2026, Goldsboro – Reverend George Gregory “Greg” Floars received his ultimate healing Friday morning, June 5, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Greg served the Lord and throughout his life he ministered in churches and everywhere he went. On the last day of his life, he led a nurse to the Lord while he was in the hospital. Greg served as pastor of Crossroads FWB Church in White Lake, Michigan from 1996 – 2001.
He served as a home missionary and founded Sawyer FWB Church in Gwinn, Michigan from 2001 to 2014. He served as the pastor of First FWB Church in Pontiac Michigan from 2014 to 2023. After returning home in 2023 Greg joined a longtime friend, Ricky Ham, pastor of West Calvary FWB Church in Smithfield, North Carolina ministering as outreach facilitator.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Floars. Greg is survived by his mother, Sue Floars; his brothers, Anthony (Kim) and Johnny (Angie); wife, Lea Floars; two daughters, Laura Lea Botkins (Zach) and Rachel Smith (Jordan); one son, Caleb Floars (Mikayla) and grandchildren, Titus Botkins, Landry Botkins, Olivia, Botkins, Uriah Botkins, Renna Smith, Ramey Smith and Grayson Floars.
Homegoing services will be held Monday evening, June 22, 2026 at 6:30 PM at Faith FWB Church in Goldsboro. A time of visitation will be at 5:30 preceding the service.
The family would like to thank all the many people that helped to love and care for Greg, with special thanks to his cousin, Mike Trail for all his many ways of loving and caring for Greg.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.
