October 30, 2026, 82, – Gillian Mary Marshall Brogneaux was born on June 16,1944 to the late Frederick and Muriel Marshall, Bromley, England, just 10 days after D-Day and while bombs rained down on the South-Eastern suburbs of London.
Jill went to High School in Bromley, followed by a Secretarial course at Bromley Technical College. She worked in London for several years, until she met and married Roger who was stationed at Lakenheath AFB.
After their marriage and the birth of her beloved children, Catherine and Jeffrey, Jill and Roger relocated to New Mexico, then back to Woodbridge AFB in England, and finally to Seymour Johnson AFB and Goldsboro where they lived the rest of their lives. Along the way Jill attended New Mexico State University, Wayne Community College and East Carolina University from which she graduated with a degree in Math Education, and she proudly taught at North Lenoir High School until her retirement. Following retirement, she initially taught part-time at Wayne Community College and then delighted in spending time with her much loved grandchildren and travelling as often as possible.
Over the years, Jill belonged to St. Mark’s, Bromley, and All Saints, Kesgrave, England and St. Francis Episcopal Church, Goldsboro; she taught Sunday School, led a Brownie Scout troop, and served on the Altar Guild and the Vestry at St. Francis.
She is preceded in death by her dear husband of 56 years, Roger.
