GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Downtown Goldsboro went to the dogs on Saturday, Oct. 24, as four-legged friends dressed in their Halloween best for the Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Showcase.
Hosted by Curtis Media Group and Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation, the event brought dogs, their owners, and plenty of Halloween spirit to The Hub for an afternoon of furry fun.
Presented by Houser Injury Law, the free event gave pet owners an opportunity to show off their creativity as costumed canines strutted their stuff across the stage, hoping to impress a panel of mystery judges.
From spooky to downright adorable, the competition featured creative costumes that brought plenty of smiles to the crowd.
Three lucky winners were selected for their creative costumes:
- Cruella and Her Dalmatian
- The Beekeepers and Their Bees
- Spider Dog
The winners received prize packages featuring goodies from Pet Supplies Plus, plush toys, and Downtown Shopping Dollars.
Beyond the costume competition, furry guests were treated to several special stations throughout the event, including the Curtis Media Bone Bar, First Baptist Church Pup Cup Station, Piggly Wiggly Watering Hole, and Houser Injury Law’s Spin to Win, where everyone walked away with a prize.
Down East Furniture also joined the festivities, offering a special photo opportunity for four-legged guests. Pet owners were invited to stop by the Down East Furniture booth at The Hub and let their pups strike a pose on a luxury pet sofa. By snapping a photo of their furry friend lounging in style, participants were entered for a chance to win the pet sofa and give their canine companion the ultimate place to relax at home.
The afternoon provided a fun opportunity for pet lovers to gather, celebrate Halloween, and enjoy the festive atmosphere in Downtown Goldsboro.
With wagging tails, creative costumes, adorable photo opportunities, and plenty of treats, this year’s Howl-O-Ween proved to be a PAW-sitively SPOOKTACULAR celebration!
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who brought their furry friends out for an afternoon of Halloween fun!
