GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Duke Energy is investing in the future of electrical service in Eastern North Carolina with the opening of a new state-of-the-art operations center in Goldsboro.
The company will celebrate the grand opening of its new Goldsboro Operations Center on Tuesday, Oct. 27, marking another step in its efforts to modernize infrastructure, strengthen reliability, and support the region’s continued growth.
The new facility will serve as a central hub for more than 55 Duke Energy employees, including line crews responsible for maintaining and restoring electrical service throughout the region.
The Goldsboro Operations Center will support approximately 53,920 customers across a 650-square-mile service territory, covering portions of Wayne, Johnston, Lenoir, and Duplin counties.
Crews operating from the facility will be responsible for maintaining approximately 1,500 miles of electric distribution lines, helping ensure reliable service for homes, businesses, and communities throughout the four-county area.
The new operations center is part of Duke Energy’s broader efforts to upgrade electrical infrastructure across North Carolina while preparing for increasing energy demands.
By providing a modern facility for line crews and operations personnel, Duke Energy aims to strengthen its ability to respond to outages, maintain critical infrastructure, and meet the needs of a growing region.
