WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — It was a tough Friday night under the lights for Wayne County high school football teams as all three teams in action suffered lopsided losses on the road.
With Eastern Wayne, Rosewood, and Princeton enjoying a bye week, Southern Wayne, C.B. Aycock, and Goldsboro were left to represent Wayne County on the gridiron Friday, October 9. Unfortunately, none of the three teams could find their way into the win column.
Southern Wayne Shut Out by Northern Nash
The Southern Wayne Saints traveled to Rocky Mount on Friday night to face the Northern Nash Knights.
However, Northern Nash proved too much for the Saints, cruising to a commanding 62-0 victory.
The shutout marked a disappointing night for Southern Wayne as the Saints look to regroup heading into their next contest.
C.B. Aycock Falls to Rocky Mount
The C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons faced another difficult challenge Friday night, traveling to take on the Rocky Mount Gryphons.
Rocky Mount continued its winning ways with a decisive 44-7 victory over the Golden Falcons.
The Golden Falcons will look to bounce back as they prepare for their next matchup.
Goldsboro Shut Out by James Kenan
The Goldsboro Cougars continued their search for a victory Friday night as they traveled to face the James Kenan Tigers.
The Tigers controlled the scoreboard, handing the Cougars a 55-0 defeat.
Goldsboro will look to regroup and make adjustments as the regular season continues.
