October 7, 2026, 89, Goldsboro – Shirley Mae Brannan of Goldsboro went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. She was 89 years old.
She leaves behind more than just happy memories of her. She leaves a legacy of kindness, love and most of all, a strong faith in Jesus. Shirley loved to talk about the Lord, ending each conversation with “He’ll make a believer out of you.”
Shirley is now one in Christ with Stephen Earl Brannan, Sr. who was her husband of 64 years. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Steve and Sandy Brannan, Sherry and Andrew Onorio, Tim and Helen Brannan and Toby Brannan. Shirley’s six grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Joshua, James, Adam, and Daniel, were the light of her life. She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren and her sisters, Jean, Phyllis, and Linda.
Shirley will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery alongside her husband.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
