September 28, 2026, 73, Goldsboro – Deborah “Debbie” Waite Sies of Goldsboro, NC, made her journey to heaven on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 3HC Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was born on August 18, 1953, to the late Thomas and Charlotte Waite.
Debbie dedicated her life to her family. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Sies; children, Donna Baldwin and Kevin Shanle (Kim); stepchildren, Larry Sies, Jr., Teri Padgett (Charlie), and Cindi Schwartz (Dan); sisters, Rose Bickings and Vella Ellers; brother, Richard Waite; grandchildren, Courtney Baldwin, Kaitlyn Baldwin, and Isla Shanle; step-grandchildren, Dan Sies, Taylor Sies, Zach Schwartz, Noah Schwartz, Candis Black, Brandon Padgett, Katrina Padgett, and Ed Padgett; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Pete Wells, and stepdaughter, Debi Routt.
Debbie loved cooking, baking, hosting gatherings, and spending time with family and friends. She cherished moments with her children and grandchildren above all. Her home was often filled with laughter, stories, and the joy of togetherness. She also loved the beach and the peace and happiness she found there. Some of her favorite memories were made enjoying the beauty of the coast and spending time on cruises, where she could relax, explore new places, and simply enjoy life with those she loved.
Her legacy will continue through her family and friends. Debbie will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched.
The family will hold a celebration of life service for Debbie on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Hydrant Church at 3 p.m., with Pastor Liz Baker presiding. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association at P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, in memory of Debbie.
