September 20, 2026, 72, Goldsboro – Vicky Myers Ginn, age 72, of Goldsboro, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, just nine days after the passing of her beloved husband, Wilmond Edward Ginn Jr., who passed away on September 11, 2026, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville, North Carolina.
Vicky was born in Wayne County on January 6, 1954, to the late Henry Myers and Mabel Holland Myers. She devoted her life to her home and family as a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Vicky loved cats and had a special place in her heart for her feline companions. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Providing a warm, loving home for those she loved was one of the greatest joys and accomplishments of her life.
Vicky and Wilmond were married on March 10, 1971, beginning a journey together that would span more than 55 years. Through all the seasons of life, they built a home, raised their family, and created a lifetime of memories together.
Wilmond was born in Mount Olive to the late Wilmond Edward Ginn Sr. and Penny Stevens Ginn. He spent many years on the road as a truck driver, first as an owner-operator and later driving for several other companies. His years behind the wheel reflected his strong work ethic and his dedication to providing for those he loved.
When Wilmond wasn’t on the road, there was nowhere he would rather be than with his family. He especially treasured the time he spent working on cars with his grandson, Jonathan. Those hours together were about much more than turning wrenches; they gave a grandfather and grandson the opportunity to share time, knowledge, laughter, and memories. Wilmond also enjoyed gathering with his family around a bonfire, finding happiness in the simple pleasure of being together.
They are survived by their daughter, Valerie Morrell; granddaughter, Amanda Kearney and husband, Chase; and grandson, Jonathan Morrell.
Vicky is also survived by her sisters, Rochelle Anderson and Carmen Estes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Myers.
Wilmond is also survived by his sister, Elsie Pounds; and brothers, Timothy Ginn and Gary Ginn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Ginn.
A service to celebrate the lives of Vicky and Wilmond will be held Monday, September 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley, with Reverend Michael Morrell officiating. The family will briefly receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
For more than 55 years, Vicky and Wilmond walked through life side by side, building their lives around the family they loved so dearly. Though only nine days separated their passing, the love they shared for more than half a century will endure in the lives and memories of their family. Their story is one of a lifetime shared together—a loving home, treasured family moments, and a devotion to one another that remained until the very end.
