September 10, 2026, 88, Goldsboro – Barbara Jean Chase Forehand, 88, of Goldsboro, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family.
A private burial will be held.
Barbara was born in Wayne County on March 20, 1938, to the late Herman and Lina Taylor Chase. Throughout her 88 years, she was blessed with a family she dearly loved and treasured. Her greatest joys were found in the people closest to her, and the love she shared with her family will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
While her health permitted, Barbara worshipped at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro. Her faith provided a source of strength and comfort throughout her life.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, S. Gerald Forehand; three daughters, Beverly Forehand, Marty Edwards and Amy Bowen, all of Goldsboro; one brother, Delton “Dale” Chase of Pikeville; one sister, Virginia “Gaye” Byrd of Fremont; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered for the devotion she gave to her family and the special place she held in their lives. Through the years, she experienced the joy of seeing her family grow from children to grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating a legacy of love that will continue through the generations.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the memories she created, the love she shared and the lives she touched will remain forever in the hearts of her family and those who knew her.
