GOLDSBORO, N.C. — One of Wayne County high school football’s longest-running rivalries will write its final chapter a day earlier than originally planned.
This week’s Pittman Agner Law High School Football Game of the Week on FM 98.3 WGBR has been moved to Thursday night due to the threat of severe weather Friday evening.
The schedule change sets the stage for the 45th and final installment of the Little River Rivalry, as the Charles B. Aycock Golden Falcons travel to the Eagles Nest to face the Rosewood Eagles.
With county bragging rights on the line, the Golden Falcons and Eagles will meet under the Thursday night lights for one last showdown in a rivalry that has been part of Wayne County football for decades.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday.
Barry Stallings, the voice of Wayne County Football, and Harlon Neal will have the call. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with the UNC Health Wayne Pre-Game Show, followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.
Fans can listen to the Pittman Agner Law High School Football Game of the Week on FM 98.3 WGBR or stream all the action on Goldsboro Daily News.
