WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — It was a tough Friday night on the gridiron for several area high school football teams, as opponents put up big numbers across the region.
In the Pittman Agner Law High School Football Game of the Week, Eastern Wayne suffered its first loss of the season, falling 41-6 to Southwest Edgecombe at Little Big Horn. The Warriors entered the matchup unbeaten but were unable to slow down the Cougars.
Elsewhere, C.B. Aycock was shut out by Northern Nash, 61-0, while Rosewood fell to Martin County, 51-7.
Princeton also faced a difficult matchup against Wallace-Rose Hill, with the Bulldogs defeating the Bulldogs of Princeton, 42-7.
Southern Wayne was held scoreless as Rocky Mount rolled to a 42-0 victory over the Saints.
