MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Motorists in Mount Olive should prepare for a temporary road closure as the town completes a sewer line replacement project on North Chestnut Street.
According to the Town of Mount Olive, North Chestnut Street between Westbrook Street and West Park Avenue will be closed to all traffic beginning Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 9 a.m. The closure will remain in effect until Friday, Aug. 7, at 5 p.m.
Town officials said the closure is necessary to allow crews to safely replace a sewer line in the area. Because of the nature of the work, there will be no public access through the work zone during the project.
Motorists will be required to use a detour route via Westbrook Street off North Breazeale Avenue to access the area.
Residents and travelers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when driving near the construction zone. The Town of Mount Olive appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while the infrastructure improvements are completed.
