GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The City of Goldsboro has officially lifted its voluntary water conservation declaration after improving conditions at Falls Lake Dam and along the Neuse River.
City officials announced that residents may now resume normal water usage following months of voluntary conservation efforts that began in April in response to lower water levels and ongoing concerns about water availability.
Officials said current water levels at Falls Lake Dam and the Neuse River have improved enough to end the conservation request. While the declaration has been lifted, the city continues to encourage residents and businesses to use water responsibly and practice wise conservation habits whenever possible.
The voluntary conservation measures were implemented as a precaution to help preserve the community’s water supply during a period of reduced river flows. City leaders thanked residents for their cooperation and commitment to conserving water over the past several months.
Although restrictions are no longer in place, officials noted that responsible water use remains important to ensuring a reliable water supply for the future.
