GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The City of Goldsboro is inviting residents to help shape how hundreds of thousands of federal dollars will be invested in local housing and community development projects over the coming year.
The City’s Development Services Department is preparing its Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Action Plan and expects to receive approximately $330,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding and $220,000 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The federal funds are designated to support programs and projects that benefit households earning less than 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Potential funding priorities include:
- Affordable housing
- Homelessness initiatives
- Public services
- Neighborhood improvements
- Special needs housing
- Services for special populations
City officials are encouraging community members to share their ideas and priorities before the plan is finalized.
Residents can provide feedback by completing the FY2026-2027 Annual Action Plan Community Survey.
In addition, the FY2026 Draft Annual Action Plan is available for public review and written comment through July 30. The draft plan can be viewed online, and written comments may be submitted by email to communityrelations@goldsboronc.gov.
Public participation helps ensure federal funding is directed toward the community’s most pressing housing and development needs.
